Positive Mood
One of the most significant impacts our perspectives have is on our mood and mental well-being. A negative perspective views change and challenges as something to be feared and avoided. This attitude and approach produce a stress response that can increase our anxiety and cause us to respond in anger, with sorrow, or even become totally isolated.
A positive perspective, on the other hand, changes our view of change and challenges to one of opportunity. Through this lens, we become open to change and challenges and are better able to embrace them which means they don’t become stressors in our lives.
Increase Learning Opportunities
When we view things from a positive lens, we are better able to see growth and learning opportunities. A positive perspective allows us to see the lesson or a bigger picture of a scenario versus solely focusing on the problem. Focusing on the lesson or learning opportunity invites chances of developing new skills. These new skills can then be leveraged and applied to situations in the future.

Enhanced Success Opportunities
The more open you are and the more you learn, the greater the chances of success become. Most people who have a negative perspective don’t go on to experience much success. This is because their perspective keeps them from trying new things, venturing into unfamiliar territory, and challenging themselves in any meaningful way.
This negative perspective acts as an anchor, tying people to their current level of knowledge or being, and simultaneously keeping them from being able to move forward. When we adopt a positive perspective, it allows us to venture out and try new things, seek new information, and explore new territory that increases our chances of succeeding.
Manifestation of Positive Things
There is a principle known as the Law of Attraction. Essentially this principle states that whatever you focus on will manifest in your life. This is not a magical concept whereby thinking something positive makes it spontaneously appear. Rather, it’s the idea that what you choose to focus on will result in you putting energy and action towards that thing, and thus manifesting it in your life. To use one of my favorite clichés - the grass is greenest where we water it.

This doesn’t mean denying the challenge or potential negativity that may exist, but rather acknowledging those things and then making the conscious decision to find the silver lining. In doing so we’ll maintain our overall well-being, increase our chances for opportunity and success, and attract positive things into our lives because of the energy and effort we go on to exert towards those positive things.
